    Why do you join a forum or community?

    To learn?

    To prospect?

    To recruit?

    All legitimate reasons to sign on. But what message do you send when you don't post a photograph of yourself.

    Not a silly avatar.

    Not a company logo (brand yourself, silly)

    But a decent picture of you. Teaching. Posing. Doing what you love. Anything other than a generic mugshot.

    If you want to be taken seriously, be real.
